Volunteer Coordinator

Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to provide logistical support and coordination for event activities at Kennedy Space Center.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Identify the number of docents or volunteers required to support an upcoming event. 
• Schedule volunteer coverage for events and activities. 
• Coordinate with departments or project teams to ensure volunteers are given appropriate instructions for their responsibilities on that particular assignment. 
• Directly interface with NASA visitors, including VIPs, as well as government management and customers. 

Qualifications

5+ years experience in event planning and coordination.  High School diploma or GED.  Experience working with non-profit organizations desired.  Experience in quickly resolving issues requiring rapid-turn around.  Must be proactive, and customer and results-oriented.  Must have outstanding communication skills and be comfortable interacting with people.  Must be a US citizen.
