Department Overview
The Astro Base Station Software department, part of Motorola Solutions, is one of the teams which develops mission-critical public safety ASTRO® 25 communication system and we are responsible for delivering software for ASTRO® 25 site equipment (https://www.motorolasolutions.com/en_us/products/project-25-systems/astro-25-site-equipment.html).Our products are developed by self-organizing Agile teams which have end to end responsibility for the whole software development process, starting from requirements definition and decomposition, through software development, integration and testing until final system validation and delivery to our customers.
Job Description
We are looking for a passionate Engineer for the Motorola Transport Platform team (MTP) who will play a critical and active role in the Motorola Network Router software validation process which includes Continuous Validation environment creation and maintenance, tests' scenarios definition, execution and automation, defects submission and fixes' verification. System Configuration and Test Engineer diagnoses and identifies systems' issues, designs and validates solutions for complex problems and looks for improvements in a daily job. An important part of work is knowledge and experience sharing with other team members (test and software engineers).
Basic Requirements
Good test methodologies knowledge
Experience in test plans and procedures/scenarios creation
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Practical knowledge of computer networks design and configuration
Working knowledge of network control protocols (QOS, NTP, DHCP), network management protocols (FTP, TFTP, SNMP) and security protocols (SSH, HTTPS, IPSec).
Strong knowledge of IP communication and routing (OSPF, BGP).
Knowledge of virtualization tools e.g. KVM, VMware
Experience in defects reporting, tracking, defects analysis and validation
Good communication skills to work efficiently with multiple scrum teams
English language skills at a level allowing efficient communication
Degree in Telecommunication, Computer Science, Electronics or any related field
4 days a week from Krakow office (Czerwone Maki)
Following skills will be a plus:
Programming language knowledge (e.g. Python)
Experience in Linux and Windows servers configuration and maintenance
CCNA, CCNP certificates
Working experience with telecommunication systems (like TETRA, P25, LTE , GSM systems)
