Job Description

AGP is seeking a motivated Engineering or Ag Business Intern to join our team at our expanding export terminal in Aberdeen, WA. This internship is open to students pursuing engineering or ag business–related degrees and is local to the area. This internship will offer hands-on, real-world experience in plant operations, projects, and commodity markets.

 

What You’ll Do:

Engineering Track (based on interest/major):

  • Take ownership in a project at our plant that will enhance safety, increase efficiencies and/or reduce costs

  • Communicate with construction contractors, engineering consulting firms and vendors to ensure completion of projects as needed

  • Communicate with management regarding operational, maintenance, ergonomic and safety enhancements of projects

  • Oversee projects being constructed at our plant as needed

  • Work with operations staff

Ag Business Track (based on interest/major):

  • Coordinate logistics to ensure timely product delivery and evaluate current system and provide options to enhance efficiencies.

  • Work with AGP merchandising team to understand how vessels are sold and requirements needed to complete sale and shipment

  • Conduct market research and compile data to gain knowledge in soy commodity market trends

  • Review current operational practices for the facility and provide options to increase efficiencies and cost management

Qualifications:

  • Sophomore or junior pursuing Engineering, Ag Engineering, Biosystems, Industrial Technology, or Ag Business

  • Available to work 6–10 weeks during May–August

  • Local to Aberdeen, WA

  • Interest in a production plant environment

  • Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
