Sr. Key Account Manager-West Coast

As a Sr. Key Account Manager-West Coast supporting Vision Care Key Accounts team, you will be trusted to work on nurturing key relationships within targeted accounts, understanding customer needs, and crafting solutions that benefit both Alcon and its clients. You will lead account functions, develop strategies, and manage contracts, access, and reimbursement. Building long-term partnerships and applying advanced skills to achieve objectives is key. This is a remote position with 50% travel and ideal candidates will be located on the west coast.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Develop and execute strategic account business plans aligned with customer needs and company objectives
- Deliver account plans and achieve required financial and performance results for assigned Key Accounts
- Lead cross-functional account teams and coordinate internal resources to develop and execute account business plans
- Build and sustain long-term customer partnerships by designing and implementing programs aligned to each customer’s organization, structure, business strategy, and priorities
- Communicate customer insights, opportunities, and account-related activities to internal stakeholders to inform strategy and execution
- Lead customer negotiations and contracting activities with assigned Key Accounts, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes
- Play a key role in regional and national negotiations, providing strategic input and support to leadership and account teams
- Mentor and develop other Key Account Managers, sharing best practices in account planning, negotiation strategy, and execution
- Implement programs that motivate and enable the field force to achieve goals and continuously improve selling capabilities and product knowledge
- Drive performance to meet or exceed agreed sales and market share targets across the assigned team
- Manage team budgets and expenses effectively and responsibly
- Ensure full compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Provide regular sales performance updates and reporting as agreed
- Identify and implement business-building opportunities to support volume and market share growth
- Leverage customer insights and market intelligence to inform account plans and influence cross‑functional strategy, priorities, and execution
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +15 yrs.; Assoc.+11 yrs.; M.S.+4 yrs.)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- 7 Years of Relevant Experience
