As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the application layer of our community AI-native education platform. You will work closely with ML researchers, product managers, and designers to understand their requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient backend infrastructure and an intuitive and attractive frontend. Your expertise will be crucial in building a robust and user-friendly platform that enables our users to access personalized education. As a founding member of our engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in building our innovative educational platform from the ground up. This is a hybrid role and can accommodate both remote and in-office work.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy user-facing features of our web application
• Collaborate closely with the AI team to ensure seamless integration of AI functionalities
• Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and iterate based on user feedback
• Establish strong coding, software development, and team practices to support future growth

Example deliverables

• Design and implement an attractive and user-friendly landing page
• Frontend for virtual assistant creation, management, and monitoring
• A responsive, scalable, and user-friendly community chat with virtual assistants
• System for managing user data, uploaded data, and generated data ensuring high performance and availability
• Private group invitation and subscription systems
• Integrate domain-specific technologies, such as LaTeX, diagramming, plotting, visualization tools for added functionality and content representation
• Rich Text Editor functionality for note taking and enhanced human-AI interaction

Relevant experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• Experience in full stack development, including backend and frontend technologies
• 3+ years of experience in software development building production-grade software in one or more programming languages, and working with data structures/algorithms.

Relevant skills

• Proficiency in front-end languages (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript), back-end languages (e.g., Python, Node.js), and databases (SQL, and Vector DB)
• Web application development using componentized frameworks such as NextJS
• Understanding of cloud architecture and experience with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The annual salary range for this role is $130,000 – $180,000. Total compensation also includes generous equity and benefits.
