Senior Platform Engineer

Position Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to own and evolve the infrastructure that powers Condukt’s distributed systems. You’ll sit at the intersection of platform engineering, reliability, and developer experience, building the foundations that allow our product and AI teams to ship quickly, safely, and at scale.

As an early-stage, fast-growing company, we value engineers who take ownership, think in systems, and are comfortable operating in ambiguity. In this role, you’ll design and maintain the paved roads for our engineers, while also owning reliability, observability, and incident response across a complex, real-time platform serving regulated financial institutions.

What you’ll do:

• Design, build, and maintain internal developer platforms that enable self-service deployments, testing, and observability

• Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines for application and AI workloads, reducing friction and improving deployment safety

• Define, monitor, and continuously improve SLIs and SLOs across distributed systems

• Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident response, and run blameless post-mortems to drive long-term reliability improvements

• Proactively identify reliability, scalability, and performance risks, and lead initiatives to improve system resilience

• Implement automation to reduce operational toil and improve mean time to recovery

• Manage and optimize Condukt’s cloud infrastructure on GCP (GKE, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, etc.)

• Maintain and tune Elasticsearch clusters supporting search and indexing workloads

• Configure and optimize Cloudflare for edge performance, security, and reliability

• Drive cloud cost efficiency without compromising performance or reliability

• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and AI teams to support platform needs and roadmap decisions

What you bring:

• 5+ years of experience as a Platform Engineer, SRE, or Senior/Staff Software Engineer in production environments

• Strong hands-on experience with GCP or equivalent cloud platforms

• Deep experience with Kubernetes (GKE preferred), Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code

• Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, ArgoCD, or similar)

• Solid understanding of observability practices: metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting (OpenTelemetry or similar)

• Comfort owning on-call responsibilities and leading incident management in high-availability systems

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, low-ego mindset

• Ability to operate independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
  

Bonus:

• Experience operating and tuning Elasticsearch clusters in production

• Experience deploying and scaling LLMs or other ML models in production environments
  Familiarity with AI agent architectures, inference pipelines, or GPU-based workloads

• Experience working in regulated or security-sensitive environments
