Job Description

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Operations Manager is the Owner and Leader of the entire Operations team which includes quality operations, production engineers, production and supply chain. This role has accountability and responsibility for all site operations including planning, production, quality operations and supply chain activities. He or she ensures that all site operational activities are executed safely, as per quality requirements and within cost. The Operations Manager is the primary driver of the site's safety and quality culture, operational excellence, and people development for all the operations teams. The Operations Manager leads and mentors a team of engineers and operations team managers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and safety/ procedure compliance.

Responsibility
1. "Do It Safe, Do It Right the First Time"
and “No Tolerance to Deviation”

  • Ensures proper training and qualification of employees are planned and implemented

  • Owns and enforces the "No Tolerance to Deviation" and Stop Work Authority policies across the entire operations team

  • Accountable for safe operation of the site and compliance with local regulations and internal policies.

2. Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement

  • Accountable for the achievement of all operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including safety, product quality, reliability and operational costs metrics.

  • Defines Operational KPIs and action plans to continuously drive operational performance on safety, quality, reliability and competitiveness

  • Set targets and establish execution plans for the operations team on production, quality control and logistics activities, and ensures adequate resources are organized to deliver the targets 

  • Works closely with CoE functions and Drives the execution of the Continuous Improvement roadmap for operations domain, overseeing all Lean, Six Sigma, and reliability initiatives led by the Production Engineers

3. Documentation & System Integrity

  • Ensures all key operating documents incl. procedures, work instruction, JHAs are accurate, up-to-date, and effectively communicated and trained to the team

  • Act as Site Leader or Facility Manager for review, approval and closure of the MOCs

4. Team & Talent Development

  • Manages the performance, training, and development of the Operations team

  • Fosters a culture of ownership, collaboration, and decisive problem-solving within the operations team.

Are you a MATCH?

Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering. A master's degree in a technical or business field is a strong advantage.
     

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 10+ years experience in process or production engineering, with at least 5 years in a direct supervisory or leadership role, preferably within high purity specialty chemicals, food, nuclear, semiconductor or pharmaceutical plant operations

Language

  • Fluency in the Subsidiary official language(s), including written and verbal communication in English

Specific Knowledge and Know-How

  • Experience working with highly hazardous chemicals in a manufacturing facility.

  • High proficiency in Operational Excellence methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) and ability to deliver sustained cost/efficiency gains.

  • Advanced knowledge of process control systems (PLC/DCS) and industrial data analysis tools.

  • Root cause investigation training and methodology.

  • Ability to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).

  • Understands the typical requirements (purity, reproducibility, change control, etc…) of the semiconductor industry.

Management & Behavioral Skills

  • Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams

  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and hold a team accountable to high standards of safety and performance.

  • Ability to communicate concisely and effectively in written and verbal formats with stakeholders at multiple levels in the business.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills

  • Six Sigma Green or black belt (preferred).

  • 5S and Lean Manufacturing experience (Preferred).

  • Process hazard analysis training; LOPA and HAZOP (Preferred).

  • Improvement project or capital project experience (Preferred).
