Senior Data Analyst

Job Description

The Senior Data Analyst will have a key responsibility to drive execution of Advanced Analytics, focusing on augmenting CEX WWD business impact through special projects. The Data Analyst will contribute to a cross-functional affiliate team to deploy and maintain initiatives within Commercial teams. The Data Analyst is highly analytical, business oriented with a high affinity for analysis, including Advanced / Predictive / Prescriptive Analytics as well as being passionate about analytics visualization development. A naturally curious individual with a continuous learning mindset to advance new technical skills and methodologies striving to remain abreast of leading-edge advanced analytics technologies, will be successful in this position.

Main responsibilities:

• Serve as a partner of Commercial teams in Italy, working cross-functionally to drive and deliver Advanced Analytics and be a trusted partner for Affiliate brand teams and leadership.
• Drive the engagement of stakeholders to define business questions, requirements, timelines, objectives, and success criteria for data analysis initiatives. Drive the development of the use cases, in partnership with CEx / Data Excellence team to prototype and develop the relevant visualizations. Data Analytics (time series analysis, categorical analysis, correlational & covariant analysis, etc.). Transform data into business insights that are useful for decision making and strategic planning utilizing complex statistical models and algorithms. Identify the best way to disseminate information through utilization of different tools and visual elements to stakeholders.
• Oversee and analyze and prepare data to be used by the Data Scientists team. Understanding business requirements, utilize data sets of varying degrees of size and complexity to inform the development of Machine Learning algorithms.
• Develop a deep understanding of AbbVie data assets and Ontology in Foundry. Define data entities and objects requirements and brief the Data Engineering team to create the appropriate environments.
• Guiding Data Pipeline Development (content checks, preparation, mapping, joining, stitching). Understand and assess data fit and quality, informing and partnering with the local and international data steward to maintain the highest data standards.
• Work closely with Business Technology Solutions (BTS) colleagues to ensure smooth transition of pilots into production, including technical guidance with respect to replication and scaling, with specific focus on visualizations. Ensure Data Analysis and Visualization components and projects are conducted on time, accurately, within budget, and in accordance with financial and ethical compliance guidelines.

 

Qualifications

• 4+ years relevant experience with a proven track record of leveraging machine learning or AI to drive significant business impact.
• MS degree or higher in computer science, statistics, mathematics, physics, economics, finance, engineering, machine learning or related field preferred.
• Passion for learning and innovating with new methodologies at the intersection of big data, applied math / probability / statistics and computer science.
• Proficient in translating unstructured business problems into an abstract mathematical framework.
• Ability to communicate the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner using visualization tools.
• Great interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to describe the logic and implications of a complex model to all types of partners (product managers, engineers, designers, senior executives).
