We are looking for a Senior Bookkeeping Associate to join our Group Corporate Accounting team based in Athens. This role will focus on maintaining accurate books for our Group entities, with a strong emphasis on journal entries, reconciliations and reporting. You will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial data that supports consolidated reporting and compliance across Bluegroundâs global operations.
What you will focus on:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately in the ledgers and/or accounting system.
- Support month-end closing and statutory/tax filings.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Identify, report, and resolve discrepancies or issues in financial records.
- Review and streamline bookkeeping processes for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.
- Work closely with the broader Finance team to support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Participate in transformation projects, including ERP upgrades, reporting automation, and process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelorâs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ACCA or similar professional qualification is highly preferred.
- 4â5 years of relevant experience, ideally in a multi-entity or international environment.
- Excellent spreadsheet skills and confidence working with large datasets and multiple systems.
- Track record in managing complex financial records and supporting financial reporting
- Experience in high-growth companies, startups, or organizations undergoing finance transformation.Â
- Excellent command of English, written and spoken.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
- A reliable, can-do mindset, eager to take ownership and solve problems independently.
- Passion for continuous improvement, automation, and working in cross-functional teams.
