About the Role

This is a senior backend engineering role with real ownership over core systems.

As a Senior Backend Engineer at CYBRET AI, you will design and build the services, data pipelines, and APIs that power autonomous security reasoning. Your work will directly affect system reliability, performance, and the correctness of security decisions.

You will work closely with AI engineers, security engineers, and product to turn complex security and AI logic into robust, production-grade backend systems.

Responsibilities

Backend Systems & APIs

Design, build, and maintain core backend services and APIs
Implement scalable, secure, and well-structured backend architectures
Own services end-to-end from design and implementation to production and iteration

Data & Distributed Systems

Build and operate data pipelines for security signals, exposure data, and reasoning outputs
Work with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing
Ensure correctness, consistency, and performance at scale

Reliability & Security

Design for fault tolerance, observability, and operational excellence
Implement logging, metrics, tracing, and monitoring
Ensure backend systems follow strong security and data-protection practices

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

Collaborate closely with AI, security, and product teams
Translate product and reasoning requirements into clean backend implementations
Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term technical strategy
Mentor engineers and raise backend engineering standards

What We’re Looking For

Strong experience as a senior backend engineer in production environments
Excellent software engineering fundamentals and system design skills
Experience building distributed systems and high-throughput APIs
Strong ownership mindset and ability to operate independently

Experience with cloud platforms, security-critical systems, or data-intensive products is a strong plus, but not required.
