About the role

We are seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to support and expand our

customer base across the US market. This individual will be a key technical partner

in helping customers evaluate, adopt, and realize value from Secondmind’s AI-driven design space exploration and AI driven model-based calibration solutions.


The role involves close collaboration with sales, ML engineers, R&D ,and product

teams to deliver compelling demonstrations, technical workshops, and proof-of-

concept (PoC) projects. You will leverage your experience with simulation and

system-level modeling tools to bridge the gap between engineering workflows and

modern AI/ML-driven approaches.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead technical pre-sales engagements, including discovery meetings, solution mapping, and tailored product demonstrations.
  • Engage with customers to understand system modeling, simulation, and calibration workflows and identify opportunities for applying Secondmind Solutions.
  • Support proof-of-concept and pilot projects, defining success criteria, preparing data, configuring software, and analyzing results.
  • Partner with sales leadership to develop and deliver impactful presentations, proposals, and technical collateral.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, ensuring successful onboarding and sustained adoption.
  • Provide structured feedback to the product and R&D teams to influence roadmap direction.
  • Represent Secondmind at industry events, conferences, and customer workshops globally.

What skills, experience, and qualifications do you need to succeed in this role?


Essential

  • 7+ years of experience in a pre-sales or customer-support role for engineering simulation or system-level modeling tools.
  • Strong background in simulation, model-based engineering, or model-based calibration.
  • Experience working with major system level simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, GT-Power, and Modelica-based platforms, and major CAE tools from Synopsis/Ansys, Simulia, Hexagon, Cadence, and Convergent Science and Siemens Simcenter.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML methods and their application to engineering, optimization, or design exploration.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline (Master’s preferred).
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States (U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder).


Preferred

  • Background in automotive systems, particularly powertrain, e-drive, or vehicle dynamics.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or electronics industries.
  • Hands-on experience with data-driven engineering workflows or surrogate modeling approaches.
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, collaborative, startup-like environment.
