Job Description
Galaxia Technologies Inc. is seeking a National Expert - Software Engineering to provide unparalleled leadership and technical expertise in the design, development, and deployment of advanced enterprise-scale software solutions. As a National Expert, you will shape the organization's software engineering strategies, drive innovation, and solve the most challenging technical problems in support of mission-critical systems. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep technical foundation and a proven track record of success in large-scale software engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the architecture of highly scalable, secure, and complex software systems for mission-critical applications.
- Provide expert guidance on software engineering methodologies, frameworks, and best practices to ensure excellence and consistency.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to define strategic technical roadmaps and align them with organizational goals.
- Lead technical innovation initiatives, evaluating emerging technologies and integrating them into organizational practices.
- Mentor and guide engineering leaders and teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Ensure the implementation of DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and secure cloud-native architectures.
- Act as a trusted advisor for resolving the most complex technical challenges, ensuring optimal solutions.
- Represent the organization in national-level discussions, conferences, and partnerships, showcasing technical expertise.
- Document key decisions, architectures, and standards to promote knowledge sharing and organizational learning.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and 20+ years of software development experience; or Master’s Degree and 18+ years of experience.
- Recognition as a thought leader in software engineering through publications, patents, or speaking engagements.
- 18+ years of progressive experience as a software developer, architect and/or technology executive leading large scale/complex enterprise software efforts
- 5+ years of commercial industry experience with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex enterprise software projects
- Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or similar.
- Deep expertise of software development methodologies, including Agile, DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), CI/CD, and vertical slice/full-stack development approaches, with experience in implementing best practices for enterprise software, at scale.
- Advanced knowledge of highly available, scalable cloud native (IaaS, PaaS, DaaS) solutions within commercial industry
- Extensive experience in leading large-scale, complex software engineering projects and architecting enterprise-level systems.
- Proven ability to design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient software systems for high-stakes environments.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on addressing national-level technical challenges.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with leadership, stakeholders, development teams, and industry or academic communities.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance and willing to take a CI polygraph
Highly Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Past or present experience with USSF/SSC or mission partner space control or space domain awareness mission area programs
- Knowledgeable with respect to IC/DoD processes and procedures for delivering software to production environments
Pay Range:
$250,000 – $350,000 base compensation.
This range represents the good-faith estimate of the base compensation we expect to pay for this role at the time of hire. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as experience, qualifications, and geographic location. In addition to base compensation, we offer excellent benefits.
