Job Description

Smart Energy is one of Australia’s largest home electrification businesses, helping households transition to solar, battery storage, and smarter energy solutions. Founded in Byron Bay, we’re on a mission to make clean energy accessible and affordable for Australians.
 
As we continue to scale nationally, we’re looking for a driven Installer Recruiter to help us secure the best solar and battery installers across Australia.
 
This is a high-impact recruitment role where your ability to build relationships with installers directly influences installation capacity, project delivery, and company growth.
 
⚡ The Opportunity
 
The Installer Recruiter plays a critical role in ensuring Smart Energy always has the right number of CEC accredited installers in the right territories to support our growing installation demand.
 
You will focus on proactively sourcing, engaging, and securing high-quality solar and battery installers nationwide, ensuring we stay ahead of install demand and maintain strong installation capacity across the country.
 
This role suits someone who is confident on the phone, target driven, and comfortable building relationships with tradespeople.
 
Please note: This role is on-site Monday – Friday at our vibrant Byron Bay HQ (industrial estate) and will commence as a casual position with full-time hours + Uncapped Commission.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Proactively source qualified solar and battery installers across priority territories nationwide
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of installation talent
  • Network within industry groups, trade communities, and referral channels
  • Negotiate installer rates and engagement terms in line with budgets
  • Maintain accurate pipeline tracking, reporting, and onboarding updates
  • Work closely with the Installations Manager to identify territory gaps
  • Provide clear updates on capacity coverage and hiring progress
  • Strengthen installer relationships to support long-term retention
  • About You

  • 1–2+ years experience in Recruitment or Sales
  • Experience recruiting within trades or technical industries highly regarded
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple territories simultaneously
  • Strong communicator comfortable engaging with tradies and contractors
  • Confident negotiating rates or commercial terms
  • Proactive and comfortable working towards clear hiring targets
  • Experience with Google Sheets/Docs
