Job Description

Full Stack Engineer

Emergence Software | Remote (India-based) | Full-Time

Who We Are

Emergence is a thematic holding company backed by the Pritzker Organization focused exclusively on acquiring and scaling category-defining software businesses. Our structure organizes investments into focused portfolios that function as specialized operating groups, each developing deep domain expertise, proven operational playbooks, and long-term partnerships with founders and management teams.

We combine operational rigor with a growth equity mindset, partnering closely with leadership teams to drive sustainable ARR growth, profitability improvements, and industry-leading customer outcomes.

The Role

You will build, ship, and run features across our internal platforms. The stack is React and TypeScript on the frontend, Python with FastAPI on the backend, PostgreSQL and MongoDB for data, and n8n for automation. You will own the full lifecycle - from writing the feature to deploying it and keeping it running.

This is a full stack role with real DevOps responsibility. We are a small team so there is no separate infrastructure person. You set up pipelines, manage deployments, and make sure what you build stays up.

The one thing that sets this role apart: we want someone who uses AI coding tools - Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar - every day as a core part of how they work and ships faster because of it.

What You Will Do

Product development

  • Build frontend interfaces in React and TypeScript - components, hooks, state management, API integration

  • Build and maintain backend services in Python using FastAPI or Flask - API design, business logic, authentication, data validation

  • Design and manage database schemas in PostgreSQL and MongoDB

  • Integrate third party APIs and services into our platforms

  • Build automation workflows in n8n that connect internal tools and reduce manual work across the team

DevOps and infrastructure

  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for automated testing and deployment

  • Manage cloud deployments and keep production environments stable

  • Containerize services using Docker and manage them in production

  • Monitor application health, set up logging, and own incident response when things break

  • Write and maintain scripts that automate operational tasks across the team

General

  • Write clean, well structured code that the next engineer can read without asking you what it does

  • Use AI coding tools actively - for generation, debugging, code review, and refactoring - and bring that speed to the team

What We Are Looking For

Must-haves

  • 2 to 5 years of full stack development experience with real production exposure

  • Strong with React and TypeScript on the frontend

  • Solid with Python and FastAPI or Flask on the backend

  • Comfortable with PostgreSQL and MongoDB

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines - GitHub Actions or similar

  • Experience with Docker and deploying containerized applications

  • You use AI coding tools daily - Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar - as a core part of how you develop and ship

  • You own what you ship. You do not hand it off after the PR is merged.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with n8n or similar automation platforms

  • Cloud platform experience on AWS, GCP, or Azure

  • Familiarity with auth patterns - JWT, OAuth, Clerk or similar

  • Comfort with low code or no code tools when they are the right solution

  • Experience building internal tools or SaaS products at a small company

Who you are

You: started your career when AI tools were already part of the picture and you leaned into them hard. You use them for generation, debugging, and reviewing your own code before anyone else sees it. You are faster because of it. You figure things out and keep moving. You are equally comfortable writing a React component and setting up a deployment pipeline. You care about your code working in production and staying up.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary

  • Remote-first

  • Small team with real ownership - you will not spend months on one component

  • Your work is live across multiple companies from day one

  • Fast feedback loop - what you build gets used quickly and you see the impact directly
