Overview of Role

66degrees Software Engineers within the Innovation team are catalysts for future growth. You will leverage your strong development foundation to explore emerging technologies, identify new opportunities, and rapidly prototype high-impact "accelerators" and minimum viable products (MVPs) for our clients. Partnering with cross-functional experts in AI, data, and cloud engineering, you will move beyond mission-critical application delivery to actively shape the next generation of intelligent enterprise solutions. This role is for a highly motivated and exploratory individual passionate about turning complex challenges into clear, quantifiable outcomes and driving new value for the business.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end full stack applications, combining scalable backend systems with intuitive frontend interfaces.
• Build and manage data-heavy backend systems, with a strong focus on data engineering, data warehousing, and data modeling.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Python to ingest and process data from structured and unstructured sources into cloud data platforms.
• Create responsive and high-performance user interfaces using React.js, enabling rich data visualizations and seamless user interactions.
• Work with Big Data technologies and cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake) to ensure efficient data processing at scale.
• Leverage cloud platforms (GCP) and services like Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, or equivalent to build and deploy scalable microservices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (AI, Data, Cloud, Product) to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (TDD), and best engineering practices to ensure high-quality and reliable software delivery.
• Experiment with and implement AI/ML and Generative AI use cases, contributing to rapid prototyping of MVPs and accelerators.
• Continuously explore emerging technologies and contribute to innovation-driven product development within the organization. 

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in full stack development with strong expertise in Python (backend) and React.js (frontend).
• Hands-on experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and processing large-scale datasets (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, and data architecture principles.
• Experience working with cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable) and deploying scalable applications.
• Familiarity with Big Data ecosystems and distributed data processing frameworks is a plus.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and backend system design.
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Exposure to or strong interest in AI/ML and Generative AI technologies (LLMs, prompt engineering, etc.) is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking, with the ability to work on ambiguous and evolving requirements.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives.
• Demonstrated learning mindset, adaptability, and curiosity, with exposure to diverse technologies or domains being a plus.
