Frontend developer

Job Description

Designing and creating tools that high-school students can use intuitively when learning mathematics is a challenge, and a critical success factor for AlgebraKiT. The frontend developer we are looking for thrives in a small team, has creative ideas, likes discussion and has the skills to convert these ideas into working software.

• Create new and improve current math interaction components, so that any student immediately likes working with them;
• Help to extend and improve our frontend test suite;
• Help making our authoring tools so easy to use that anyone can create powerful math exercises

Qualifications

• You are a real developer, with a passion for user experience;
• You like and have knowledge of high-school mathematics;
• You have knowledge of Angular, Javascript and/or Typescript computer languages;
• You are able to contribute to technical discussions and suggest creative solutions to problems.

Additional Information

You will have the ability to work from home part-time, if desired.

At AlgebraKiT, we create software for math education which we make available to educational publishers worldwide. As a result, millions of high-school students rely on AlgebraKiT’s math interactions every day to improve their understanding of mathematics. 

Our software consists of advanced evaluation engines, which run server side, and user-friendly math interactions that run in the browser. We are continuously improving and extending our software to remain in the lead for the years to come. That’s why we are looking for a frontend engineer who wants to be part of our mission.

We run our software in a Kubernetes cluster in AWS. We currently use tools like NodeJs, Typescript, Redis, StencilJS, DynamoDB, Java and Playwright. We are always open to using new promising technologies.
