Job Description

The FPGA Engineer will be a member of a team responsible for designing digital devices from conception to production including but not limited to feasibility studies, device technology choices, component selection, device architecture development, design specifications, design and test development, high level verification methods, production testing, lab support, and defect resolution.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work independently to deliver correct engineering solutions with little guidance from more senior designers

  • Provide technical support to project team members

  • Adhere to department procedures regarding computer file structure, design file management, device specifications, coding guidelines, synthesis guidelines, and file security

  • Implement industry standards and proprietary product features

  • Follow and offer improvements to design, verification, and backend methodologies

  • Contribute to specification, design, and test reviews at the IP, module, or chip level

  • Maintain FPGA/IP development goals while working with project management guidance

  • Ensure ASIC/FPGA project specific design requirements will be met on schedule

  • Other projects and assignments may result and be assigned to accommodate the changing needs of the department and the Company

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field is required

  • 7-15 years of experience

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Knowledge in UVM or class-based verification methodologies

  • Knowledge in high-speed digital/analog circuit design

  • Experience with building scalable simulation/verification environments

  • Knowledge of PLLs, clock and reset architectures

  • Knowledge of physical implementation methods and requirements of high-speed electronic systems

  • Knowledge of OS: Windows and Linux/CentOS based environments

  • Able to implement and validate 3rd party IP solutions

  • Experience with Script in shell/Tcl to aide in analysis/processes/automation

  • Limited travel is expected in this position

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

  • Able to support existing products that are released into production

  • Willingness to assist in team building at other sites

  • Proficient in HDL languages, Verilog, VHDL, and SystemVerilog

  • Polarion competency
