Founding QA Engineer - India

Role and Responsibilities

• Own quality end-to-end across product, from UI to backend APIs to edge devices.

• Define and implement QA strategy (manual + automated).

• Build scalable test automation (API, integration, E2E)

• Perform hands-on exploratory testing with strong user empathy

• Identify high-impact issues vs noise; prioritize ruthlessly

• Work closely with engineers to debug, reproduce, and prevent issues. Talk to clients to learn their pains.

• Integrate testing into CI/CD and release processes.

• Improve product reliability, performance, and edge-case handling

• Drive quality standards, not just execute test cases.
  

Requirements

• 3–6 years QA / SDET experience

• Strong understanding of how the internet works (HTTP, sockets, APIs, latency, failures)

• Experience testing APIs with code (e.g., Python/JS + REST tools)

• Experience with test automation frameworks (Playwright, etc.)

• Ability to write clean, maintainable test code

• Strong product intuition — knows what actually breaks user experience

• Excellent communication; can clearly articulate issues and tradeoffs

• Comfortable in fast-moving, ambiguous startup environment

• High ownership, low ego, high execution speed

Nice to Have

• Experience with video streaming / real-time systems

• Experience testing distributed systems or infra-heavy products

• Familiarity with observability tools (logs, metrics, tracing)

• Experience setting up QA processes from zero
