Job Description

Taxforce is building an AI-native tax, accounting, and payroll firm for German SMEs, starting with doctors and dentists. We just raised EUR5m and we're going public with what we've been building.

This isn't "AI for accounting" as a feature. It's the core. We use frontier models daily to move faster, automate workflows, and build a service that feels radically more responsive than a traditional tax advisor.

Why join

You'll be one of the first engineers through the door. You won't inherit a legacy codebase or spend your week on tickets someone else wrote. You'll shape the product, the architecture, and the way we work, side-by-side with the founders.

We're opinionated about one thing: speed comes from tight loops. That's why this is Berlin-based and on-site only. Early on, the highest leverage work happens in the same room - product decisions, debugging real customer cases, and shipping improvements the same week.

What you'll do

You'll own meaningful product and technical surface area from day one. Think: taking a messy real-world workflow and turning it into something reliable, fast, and scalable.

You'll build systems that ingest and transform financial data (documents, transactions, exports) into clean, usable workflows for our team and customers.

You'll ship production features quickly, then harden them. We care about pragmatism, but we also care that things don't silently break.

You'll use AI as leverage every day - for coding, analysis, internal tooling, and workflow automation. We expect you to be good at this, or excited to get good fast.

What we're looking for

You're an engineer with strong product sense and real ownership muscle. You can turn "vague goal" into "shipped thing users rely on" without needing perfect specs.

You've built and shipped real systems. Startup, scale-up, or serious side projects - doesn't matter. What matters is that you can point to things you owned and improved over time.

You're comfortable making trade-offs, explaining them, and revisiting them when reality changes.

You're curious and direct. You ask the annoying questions early, and you don't get stuck polishing something nobody needs.

Tech-wise, we're flexible. If it's helpful, you can expect work across TypeScript/Node, Postgres, Python, and modern AI tooling - but your ability to learn and ship matters more than matching keywords.

What success looks like in the first 90 days

You'll take ownership of an entire product area or workflow and ship it end-to-end.

You'll deliver several meaningful improvements to internal workflows that the team feels immediately - less manual work, fewer edge-case fires, faster turnaround.

You'll influence architecture direction with actual code in production: better primitives, clearer boundaries, and a platform that gets easier to extend, not harder.

The offer

Competitive salary plus meaningful equity. We want you to think like an owner because you will be one.

High autonomy, high pace, and a team that cares about building great software that shows up as better service, not just nicer dashboards.

If you want to build with frontier models, ship fast, and help reinvent how a massive industry works - let's talk.
