The Finance Advanced Studies Internship Program is a first‑of‑its‑kind opportunity designed for high‑potential bachelor’s students in Germany and Belgium who thrive in fast‑paced environments and bring an analytical, curious, and innovative mindset. This program is ideal for students who want to build a dynamic finance career in the healthcare and med‑tech sector — one of Europe’s fastest-growing and innovative-driven sectors.  

As part of this internship, you will gain hands‑on experience through structured project assignments, supported by mentorship from Abbott’s Finance leadership team. You will contribute to meaningful financial initiatives that support our global operations while developing the analytical and strategic skills needed for a long‑term career in corporate finance. 

 

What You’ll Work On 

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) 

  • Controlling & Business Partnering 

  • Treasury & Corporate Finance 

  • Accounting, Compliance & Internal Controls 

 

Program Highlights 

  • 3–6-month internship, typically May–October 

  • Locations: Wiesbaden, Zaventem, Diegem 

  • Structured onboarding and clear project responsibilities 

  • Mentorship from finance leaders and career development support

  • Final presentation to senior leadership

Required Qualifications 

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Germany or Belgium 

  • Language requirements: German (Wiesbaden); French or Dutch (Belgium) 

  • Strong analytical mindset and motivation to work in a fast-paced environment 

  • Academic focus in finance, economics, business administration, accounting, risk 

  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills 

  • Interest in corporate finance and financial leadership 

  • Curiosity, initiative, and a global mindset 

  • Ability to work, full-time and on‑site
