In partnership with our AI-specialist development team, we’re building innovative new tools that will transform our clients’ organisations and customer experiences – some for clients on a consulting basis, some through A WORKS that we will take to market as products.

This role will work with our founder, managing director, senior leaders and colleagues across our business to shape, lead, and grow a business which disrupts consulting convention and helps clients shape how the markets we serve evolve into the AI era.
Role specification
This role would be suitable for someone with senior Government experience and / or senior experience in strategic sales. As a director we would expect >10 years of experience at a leadership level, and be extremely comfortable operating in a commercial environment.
You will inspire, lead, support and develop colleagues across the firm – adding your distinct, authentic, self to the leadership of an ambitious business which is driven by a strong set of values, and high ambition for our markets, clients, colleagues, and collaborators.
With support from our managing director and growth director, develop and execute a clear, compelling, growth strategy for the central Government market – including a clear view on where we play, how we differentiate, and how our top-line propositions should land with clients.
Work with our growth director to craft and execute a sophisticated go to market plan to realise that growth strategy – including a combination of market positioning and influencing, digital and social marketing, thought leadership, events, and systematic client engagement.
Work with our founder, colleagues, and collaborators through A WORKS to identify and bring to market new ways of solving the problems the market faces – setting consulting commercial models on fire where they’re not the right way to achieve our goals.
Work with our delivery director, engagement leads, colleagues and collaborators to oversee all client engagements in the central Government market – ensuring that all our work with clients reflects our promise to bring intellect, imagination, insight, and execution smart to create real impact.
There isn’t an exhaustive list of activity for the role, but the person will need to:
- Be a present and active leader in the business – in the board, SMT, all staff engagement – to build and maintain the culture needed to deliver the firm’s strategy and ambition.
- Build relationships with existing clients and originate new clients across the market – in central Government itself and with suppliers to Government.
- Maintain Avencera’s position in the major deals space but expand to new clients either in different markets or different types of supplier.
- Contribute to the growth of our work with enterprise clients – building out from our major deals activity and linking this to our L&D offer where we have substantial credibility in the regulated market and have products under development in A WORKS.
- Lead the team to increasingly bid for Government / public sector contracts – ranging from smaller project based work to managed services where Avencera could play a significant role as prime or sub.
- Work with the growth director and PMO to develop and deliver our market positioning – e.g. thought leadership, events etc – to deliver on the growth plan for the market.
- Develop the propositions to take to market and how we differentiate – working across the business, including A WORKS, to reflect on how these propositions evolve over time.
- Provide a quality assurance function in client engagements. This role is reserved for principal consultants and above and is critical to maintaining our expected standards of delivery and retaining clients.
Working location
Working from the London office in Farringdon two days a week.
