Role overview

We are looking for Cybersecurity Engineers (Junior/Mid/Senior) to design, implement, integrate and maintain cybersecurity applications, systems and solutions. The role spans both on-premises and cloud environments and involves close collaboration with DevOps teams to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle, as well as with incident response teams to support operational security.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

JUNIOR

• Assist in providing engineering support for cybersecurity applications and systems.
• Assist DevOps teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle.
• Assist in designing custom cybersecurity solutions including DevSecOps tools.
• Troubleshoot security and network problems.
• Conduct security assessments.
• Develop and implement simple custom security solutions and tools.
• Work alongside cybersecurity incident responders.
  

MID

• Design and implement security architecture, integrating security designs and technologies across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Advanced security configuration — monitor and harden systems and infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
• Participate in incident response activities.
• Conduct security assessments and troubleshoot security and network problems.
• Ensure cybersecurity solutions remain protected and participate in change management.
• Mitigate network and system vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to security awareness and training programmes.
  

SENIOR

• Design, implement, configure, integrate and maintain complex cybersecurity solutions for on-premises and cloud environments.
• Define and enforce security policies and procedures.
• Mentor and guide junior cybersecurity engineers.
• Evaluate and recommend advanced security technologies aligned with the organisation's strategy.
• Collaborate on the development of security strategy and technology roadmaps.
  
  

To excel in this role, you'll need:

• A Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Networks or a closely related field is mandatory.

JUNIOR

• Basic understanding of security principles and common security tools.
• Attention to detail and analytical / problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration.
• Fundamental cybersecurity concepts and basic secure SDLC.
• Basic cybersecurity-related technologies.
• Basic computer programming and secure coding practices.
• Basic cloud computing concepts.
  

MID

• At least 3 years of experience.
• Advanced knowledge of security technologies, architecture design and policy development.
• Security awareness programme development.
• Incident response knowledge.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• In-depth cybersecurity principles and advanced security standards and best practices.
• Very good cloud computing knowledge.
• Detection engineering as-code frameworks.
• Security analytics and detection platforms.

SENIOR

• At least 6 years of experience.
• Strong SDLC understanding and deep knowledge of security principles and best practices.
• Experience with security tools and technologies (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM).
• Scripting languages for security automation (e.g. Python).
• Effective communication and collaboration at all levels.
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols.
• In-depth cybersecurity principles and advanced security controls, solutions and secure coding.
• Advanced security standards and best practices.
• Proficient cloud computing — advanced knowledge of cloud security concepts and platforms.

Certifications
At least one in cybersecurity and at least one in engineering, Incident response, architecture, cybersecurity solutions design and implementation, governance, product specific, programming languages or another equivalent are mandatory for the mid & senior roles, e.g.:

Cybersecurity:

GSEC, CISSP, CompTIA Security+,CSX-P, etc.

Engineering / Architecture / IR / Governance / Programming:

ISSAP, GDSA, GCED, GCSA, SEC549, SABSA SCF (Architecture), Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, OVH, CCSP), Programming language certifications (Python, PHP, SQL, JavaScript), CISM (Governance), ITIL or PM certifications, etc.
