Role overview

We are looking for Cybersecurity Architects (Junior/Mid/Senior) to design, develop and oversee cybersecurity architecture solutions that protect digital systems, services and assets across on-premises and cloud environments. The role involves conducting risk assessments and threat modelling, developing security policies and standards, and collaborating with technical and management teams to embed security into the organisation's digital strategy.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

JUNIOR

• Assist in documenting security requirements for projects.
• Support the development of basic security designs.
• Participate in security reviews and assist in implementing security controls.
• Collaborate with senior architects to understand security concepts.
• Contribute to security architecture design and reviews.
• Assist in conducting risk assessments and threat modelling.
• Help develop security policies and standards.
• Help build out implementation planning (e.g. Agile) for defined architecture efforts.
  

MID

• Lead security architecture design and implementation efforts.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and threat analysis.
• Develop and maintain security policies and standards.
• Provide guidance to junior architects and security teams.
• Collaborate with other IT teams on security initiatives.
• Contribute to security awareness and training programmes.
• Help build out implementation planning for defined architecture efforts.
  

SENIOR

• Design and propose cybersecurity architecture aligned with the Contracting Authority's cybersecurity strategy.
• Lead security transformation projects to develop cybersecurity architecture addressing security and privacy requirements.
• Assess and manage security risks at an organisational level.
• Mentor and develop junior cybersecurity architects and security teams.
• Engage with management and stakeholders on security matters and present high-level security architecture design.
• Help build out implementation planning for defined architecture efforts.
  
  

To excel in this role, you'll need:

• A Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Networks or a closely related field is mandatory.

JUNIOR

• Understanding of cybersecurity principles for on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with common security controls and architecture frameworks.
• Proficiency in security controls and technologies; understanding of network security concepts.
• Ability to assess and prioritise security risks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work as part of a team.
• Awareness of cybersecurity best practices and basic knowledge of common cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of common cybersecurity threats.
• Familiarity with regulations, architecture and security frameworks.
• Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts and platforms.

MID

• At least 3 years of experience.
• Advanced knowledge of security technologies and controls for on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience in security architecture and design.
• Strong risk assessment and management skills.
• Project management and leadership abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Expertise in cybersecurity threats and attack vectors.
• Proficiency in security architecture frameworks and compliance standards.
• Familiarity with cloud security and emerging technologies.
• Very good understanding of cloud computing concepts and platforms.

SENIOR

• At least 6 years of experience.
• Expertise in security governance and compliance for on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Exceptional knowledge of security technologies and trends.
• Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Leadership and team management capabilities.
• Thought leadership in cybersecurity.
• Mastery of advanced cybersecurity concepts, security architecture frameworks and technologies.
• Deep understanding of legal and compliance aspects related to cybersecurity.
• Proficient knowledge of cloud computing concepts and platforms.

Certifications
At least one certification in architecture and at least one certification in Cybersecurity, or Information security, or another equivalent certification recognized internationally are mandatory for the mid & senior roles. Certifications in governance, risk management certifications could be beneficial, e.g.:

Cybersecurity:

ISSAP, GDSA, GCED, GCSA, SEC549, SABSA SCF, etc.

Cybersecurity / Information Security:

GSEC, CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CSX-P, CISM, Cloud: AWS, Azure, OVH, CCSP, Risk Management: ITSRM, CRISC, PRM, etc.
