Analyste III, Responsabilité civile

 

Le rôle d'analyste III responsabilité civile est fondamental au succès continu d’AIG et à la position de chef de file qu’occupe la Compagnie sur le marché de l’assurance. AIG continue d’ouvrir la voie en élaborant des solutions d’assurance qui répondent aux risques des entreprises et s’inscrivent dans une longue tradition en matière d’innovation, ainsi qu’en commercialisant des solutions d’assurance révolutionnaires pour notre monde en évolution constante.

 

Ce que vous ferez :

  • Traiter les dossiers sinistres en responsabilité civile, de leur ouverture jusqu’à leur conclusion

  • Compléter l’analyse approfondie des polices d’assurance et de leur application au sinistre

  • Fournir les directives aux experts en sinistre indépendants, aux avocats et autres professionnels engagés par l’assureur

  • Communiquer verbalement et par écrit aux assurés, courtiers et souscripteurs la position de l’assureur relativement à la couverture d’assurance

  • Assurer la gestion des litiges et des réclamations jusqu’à la conclusion du dossier

  • S’assurer que les avocats se conforment aux lignes directrices de la compagnie en matière de gestion de litiges

  • Participer aux médiations et conférences de règlement

  • Négocier directement avec les tierces parties, si nécessaire

  • Émettre les paiements en temps opportun

  • Se conformer aux lignes directrices d’AIG relativement aux provisions pour sinistres (« réserves »), à la tenue des dossiers (notes et agenda) et à l’émission des paiements

  • Informer la Direction de cas particuliers : plaintes, sinistres majeurs ou exceptionnels, difficultés relatives au droit des assurances ou de l’application des polices, etc.

 

Ce que vous apportez :

  • Bilinguisme oral et écrit (français/anglais) essentiel, puisqu'une partie importante des tâches quotidiennes exécutées par l’employé(e) émanera des provinces canadiennes autres que le Québec, des États-Unis et de divers autres pays

  • Détient une licence commerciale AMF valide

  • Expérience avérée dans le traitement de sinistres commerciaux et connaissance des polices d'assurance excédentaire.

  • Diplôme d’études collégiales ou universitaires ou une expérience professionnelle équivalente

  • Titre professionnel de PAA un atout

  • Capacité à prendre des décisions et à transmettre les directives aux avocats, aux experts en sinistre indépendants et autres professionnels

  • Grande capacité d’analyse et d’acquisition de connaissances

  • Excellentes compétences en négociation et grand sens de la communication

  • Excellentes aptitudes pour les relations interpersonnelles

  • Déplacements : Environ 10 % du temps pour assister aux séances de médiation ou de conférences de règlements

How you will create an impact

The Casualty Analyst III is responsible for handling various types of mainstream commercial casualty claims including slip and falls, product liability and other general liability claims and must operate in accordance within all operational/Best Practices guidelines. This would include determining coverage, drafting reservation of rights and denial letters, attendance at mediation / settlement conference and instructing independent adjusters and attorneys in the negotiation and settlement of claims. Claims are primarily in Canadian venues, with limited worldwide exposures.

What you need to know:

  • Review casualty claims in conjunction with policy wordings to determine coverage

  • Provide direction to adjusters on investigation of claims

  • Prepare disclaimer and/or reservation of rights letters and communication same to underwriters, brokers and insureds when applicable

  • Provide instruction to legal counsel to bring about appropriate resolution of claim

  • Ensure compliance by legal counsel of our litigation guidelines

  • Participate in mediation/ADR process to bring about resolution of claim

  • Negotiate settlements directly where possible

  • Issue payments within appropriate time frame

  • Operate within our best practices guidelines, including timely reserve review, notes, payment requests, electronic diary

  • Inform management of all complaints, large losses, coverage issues, etc.

 

What we're looking for:

  • Fluency in both English and French (verbal and written) is essential, as a significant portion of the daily tasks handled by the employee will be based in provinces other than Quebec, the United States, and various other countries. 

  • Minimum 5+ years handling commercial casualty claims

  • Holds current AMF Commercial License

  • College/University or equivalent industry experience

  • Ability to make decisions and give directions to adjusters and/or counsel

  • Must be a quick learner with strong communication and negotiating skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Proficient computer skills to navigate paperless claim file system

  • Travel: Approximately 10% to attend mediations/ADR.
